Several Triad area hospitals and medical centers are rated among the best in the nation. No matter where you live, there are health care facilities nearby. In several counties you'll find both small, local medical centers and larger, comprehensive county or regional medical centers. In addition, there are a number of highly specialized hospitals and medical practices spread throughout the Triad. Medical facilities such as Forsyth Medical Center, High Point Regional Hospital, the Moses Cone Health System and Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center provide the residents of the Triad unsurpassed and nationally recognized medical services and facilities. Here are some highlights of each of these major facilities: Forsyth Medical Center - An 847-bed, not-for-profit, comprehensive tertiary care center, Forsyth Medical Center serves more than 67 percent of those in Forsyth County who need hospital services. Forsyth Medical Center was also the first hospital in the state to receive Primary Stroke Center Certification from the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations and was nationally recognized in 2004 for improving the quality and safety of health care. Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center - Repeatedly named one of "America's Best Hospitals" by U.S. News & World Report, Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center is one of the nation's preeminent academic medical centers.
